Summary: The following article explains how MIT has begun offering an Experiential Ethics summer course in which students work through real-world ethical dilemmas while often interning in the same fields that they’re studying. The 3-year-old course focuses on ethical concepts like the intercepts of technology with justice and encourages students to consider these things over the summer while they work or intern. The class involves a heavy amount of discussion with peers as well as a final project presented at the MIT Ethics and Sustainability Student Showcase. The goal is to drive students to focus on ethical considerations as they enter the workforce, and to be prepared when they are confronted with a situation that may be unethical in nature.
