Summary: This article focuses on the ethical impact that implementing AI in healthcare is having on patient care and diagnosis. AI’s ability to perform human tasks gives rise to ethical concerns, including potential risks to patient safety due to data flaws and algorithmic biases. An important issue discussed in the article that is related to our practicum project is the concept of informed consent. As patient data increasingly plays a role in training AI models, informed consent becomes a significant ethical challenge, requiring clinicians to educate patients about AI usage. In general, this article does a good job highlighting essential considerations for the ethical application of AI in healthcare data.
