Summary: The following article discusses how in recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a necessary tool for advancing science, specifically in medicine. It is used to design clinical trials, choose the right patients, and reduce the time it takes to commercially launch new medications. However, AI needs some degree of regulation to prevent bias from occurring. This article states that researchers must specify and agree on a dictionary of terms during the AI building process to eliminate bias before it is disseminated. Some of these terms are discovery, validation, toolset, and model.
