Summary: The following article discusses how we often hear that legislators need to regulate artificial intelligence (AI), and this is a summary of 2022 initiatives by state legislators on consumer and data privacy. 5 states (Utah, Connecticut, California, Illinois and Virginia) have comprehensive consumer privacy laws, and very little of the proposed legislation has been adopted. As well as that certain states, New York, New Jersey, California and others, consider far more legislation on this topic than other states.
