Summary: The following paper reviews sovereignty, research ethics, and data-sharing considerations when approaching community-based research with American Indian nations. They have a data-sharing agreement available to view that meets tribal and university requirements. As tribes build scientific capacity, collaboration should move from collecting data and reporting back to them to equal tribal-university partnership.
