Summary: The following panel discusses ethical artificial intelligence (AI) practices, and how the data science community needs to balance human values with the values of an efficient algorithm. These values include: representation, fairness, lessons learned, evidence based governing procedures, progress, understanding, and transparency. The panel also discussed the benefits of explainable AI when it comes to ethics and upholding these values. They also discuss how many algorithms that are based on neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) have a preference for only the major languages, which is shutting out many different cultures and parts of the world.
