Summary: The following article discusses the Google engineer who was fired because he violated security and data policies by publicly accusing their artificial intelligence (AI) robot of being sentient. Blake Lemoine was one of the engineers who did testing with this AI robot, and he was convinced that the AI robot had reached an unprecedented level of consciousness. The robot was expressing beliefs that Demoine thought were outside of the scope of a robot. Lambda was also saying that he had emotions and desires. Its statements have aroused also further discussion on how to define consciousness. However, other scientists have stated that their algorithm is just very advanced in its ability to use language learning. This accusation brought about a discussion on where the world is at in terms of interacting with AI technology. If one of Google’s own scientists could be tricked then what does the future of releasing AI to the public look like? It also raises the question of whether the introduction of AI should be left in the hands of tech companies. Tech companies are highly encouraged to provide disclosure of when AI technology is in use
