Summary: The following article details how many companies we know are willingly using personal data that they should not be ethically allowed to but are able to in a legal sense. As people, it is in our best interest to be aware of this issue, however, as data scientists there needs to be an additional effort in order to ensure there is a change of usage within the field. It is necessary that personal information is not over collected and if that is being done within the workspace, considering limiting usage must be taken into account. Bias could also become an issue if the personal information is being used carelessly depending on how and where the personal data was collected.
