Summary: Medical imaging, specifically breast imaging, is one of the most prominent aspects of healthcare where you can find technological advances and AI usage. As the years go on, more advanced technology is needed to improve diagnoses and reduce risks. Researchers in this field, and many others, believe a pause is necessary to develop core ethical principles about this growing AI usage. What I found interesting about this article is that it introduced the concepts of intelligibility and accountability, how this works, and, more importantly, establishing who is responsible. Not many other articles have touched on this topic.
