Summary: The following article features the Research Initiative on Combating Systematic Racism (ICSR) who’s goal is to seed and coordinate research used to identify racially discriminatory processes across American Institutions. The focus is to use big data to create computational tools that will make a change toward racial equality. Racial discrimination is everywhere when it comes to job market, criminal justice system, education, etc. This initiative will help explore big data across domains, as well as seeing how data is collected. This will improve/develop those computational tools to see and take actions on racial disparities in tghe institutions of American society. The issue with confounding factors, that the strong correlation between race, class, education and other, make it ectremely difficult to improve. So, the key motivation is to stress the importance of causal analysis using conmputational methods and opportunnities of big data.
