Summary: The following article features an interview with Lauren Rhue. The article focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) technology and how biases are implicitly coded into AI algorithms. She believes however that AI can and should still be used as it can help society and businesses in various ways. She believes that human intervention in the model can reduce bias and is quoted as saying “And I think it’s important to understand the potential for bias. And then the offset of my research is looking at human intervention to see if that makes it better, if people are able to offset that bias.”
