Summary: The following document contains a list of principles developed for the safe and effective use of data and analytics. The first principle states that any organization should clearly deliver the public benefit out of the data collection. It’s their responsibility to ensure not only that the data is fit for the purpose of said benefit but also that it is collected in a manner that adheres to policies set in place by the government. In addition to this, data use and analytical processes should be well documented and in line with all relevant legislation. Finally, it urges the organization to maintain human oversight into these processes to ensure accountability.
